What do portraits reveal to us about the lives of their subjects? Portraits capture physical anomalies, idiosyncratic gestures and unguarded moment s with a shameless clarity. Through portraiture we can gain an insight into identity, history, culture, creativity and diversity. The Here and There, Now and Then exhibition contains portraits depicted in a v ariety of media; paintings, print s, drawings and phot ographs. Many portraits will be on display from well-known and emerging artists. The Lady Denman will be a major venue for exciting collaborative exhibitions, workshops and special celebrations during the See Change Winter Arts Festival May/June (see page 31).
